[ How To ] Enable Edge Swipe Feature for Synaptics Integrated Touchpad

The edge swipe feature for the Synaptics integrated touchpad does not function. This issue only occurs with HP notebook PCs running Microsoft Windows 8.

RESOLUTION
The default for the edge swipe feature in the Synaptics integrated touchpad is disabled. This only applies to commercial HP notebook PCs with Microsoft Windows 8.

To enable the setting, do the following:

1. Click Start, type mouse in the search field, then select the Mouse control panel application from the search results list.
2. Select the Device Settings tab.
3. Select Synaptics TouchPad (or Synaptics LuxPad, depending on notebook model), then click the Settings button.
4. In the touchpad Properties window, select Enable Edge Swipes, then click OK.
5. Click OK to close the Mouse window.
